The department Markets & Regulation (GED-S) is part of the Strategic Development division (GED) of RWE Generation. It is responsible to coordinate and implement assessments of relevant market developments and regulation in our core markets. As Strategic Manager you will cover UK specific tasks and activities as well as support the overall work within the internationally set up Markets & Regulation department.

You will play a key part in crafting our decarbonisation pathway to achieving Net Zero. This will come from your abilities: to assess emerging Net Zero policies, to understand potential impacts from these and to shape and identify and recommend future portfolio options. You will collaborate with most functions in RWE Generation up to the highest levels and this will provide a unique insight and ability to influence our current and future UK and international business.

Your future plans

Consolidate acquired business intelligence into a comprehensive market view and provide strategic assessments for UK in particular but also for RWE Generation in general in alignment with RWE’s overall strategy

Support development and provision of strategic guidance based on market and regulatory developments, internal and external analysis.

Operatively manage development of position papers for allowing RWE Generation to proactively engage in shaping relevant regulatory framings

Drive and support relevant consultation processes and association work

Interact with UK Government and regulatory bodies for information purpose and delegated representation tasks

Develop guidance with operationalization of strategic targets together with the UK-based team

Facilitate provision of strategic guidance to RWE Generation with actual business and organizational development initiatives from within UK

Support political affairs UK with relevant analysis for regulatory consultation procedures Alignment within RWE Group and collaborate in group processes

Succinctly communicate RWE Generation’s strategy across different function

Lead initiatives to assess/address specific strategic topics

Your powerful skills

A degree in economics, engineering or natural science

Sound professional experience in the energy sector which allows you to build on in depth market and regulatory know how

Understanding of the Generation business and technology options

Openness to work within a multinational team

Demonstrate complex thinking skills that include both analytical and conceptual skills with ability to give simple answers on complex questions

Striving to improve business results at international level

Ability to join effective groups across national borders and contribute with a strong detailed understanding of the market in which the company operates

Focus on living Teamwork

Strong communication skills and confident interaction at all levels

Enthusiasm, assertiveness and decision-making power
