Assists Manager of Configuration by providing direct back up support to the Customer Service Support Team in the areas of Provider Set-up and Maintenance and Configuration by actively participating in cross training, improving processes within the team and meeting established processing deadlines.
Works in cooperation with Geisinger Health Plan staff (i.e., Information Technology, Credentialing, Provider Network Management, Customer Service and Quality Assurance Coordinator/Trainers) as needed.
Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of Geisinger Health System in its efforts to provide quality service and patient satisfaction.
Reports directly to the Manager of Configuration
Competencies and Skills:
Demonstrates excellent written and oral communication skills and strong keyboarding skills.
Demonstrates working knowledge of UB04 and CMS1500 claim forms.
Demonstrates the ability to be highly organized, with an aptitude for detail and a high regard for accuracy.
Demonstrates excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently.
Demonstrates strong problem solving skills and the ability to be flexible and confidential.
Education and or Experience:
Minimum two years’ experience in a hospital or insurance setting required OR two years college education in a healthcare or business related field.
Operational knowledge of Geisinger Health Plan insurance coverages, types of benefit plans and types of delivery services required.
Knowledge in Medical terminology preferred.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Work is typically performed in an office environment.
